Rich Carageane is the Strength Coach for Hudson Valley Raw Athletics. He attended the Starting Strength Seminar in May of 2015 and has gained the knowledge to help our members properly and safely execute the 5 main power lifts; Back Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, OH Press and Power Clean.
Rich played competitive sports in high school but like most, he took some time off from the gym to focus on starting a family and a new career. When he found himself out of shape in 2013 he decided to dedicate his time to improving his health by going to a local gym. In September 2014 Rich Joined Hudson Valley Raw Athletics and was immediately drawn to the powerlifting portion of the programming. In October 2014 Rich competed in his first powerlifting competition and took first place for his age and skill level. With his new passion for power lifting he decided he wanted to help others so in May 2015 Rich attended the Starting Strength Seminar and gained the knowledge to help instruct our members proper form and and how to safely execute the main power lifts; Back Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, OH Press and Power Clean. Since Rich has restarted his fitness journey he has lost over 40 lbs and continues to get stronger in all of his lifts. Rich works full-time a Regional Sales Manager and drives an estimated 250 miles per day and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his 3 kids (ages 17, 18 and 21), fishing, biking, hiking and vacationing on the beach.
